About Keri

Keri Nider, LADC, LIMHP, is the Owner and primary therapist at Three Acres and Ascension at Three Acres. She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Licensed Independent Mental Health Professional at Stepping Stones in Lincoln, Nebraska. She’s been working in the Human Services field since 2004 and in mental health counseling since 2015. She is committed to helping individuals who are currently in crisis, or working through past and present traumas, severe and persistent mental health, addiction, and co-occurring disorders.

As a counselor, Keri works with individuals, couples, families, and children ages six and older. She connects well with children who have severe and persistent mental illness, and with adults coping with anxiety issues, addiction issues, and personality disorders. Keri has special training in trauma counseling and equine-assisted therapy.

Keri believes that to connect with your clients you must be authentic, present, open, and non-judgmental. She feels every counselor should know what it is to be on the other side of the room, to better understand the courage and vulnerability it takes to seek counseling. That counselors are there to assist clients on their journey, and to remember it’s not the journey of the therapist. Keri also practices self awareness, and is aware of what she is good at and what she is not. They trust her to have the skillset to help them. She doesn’t fix people; she holds space and sheds light on areas of darkness; on places where they can’t see, won’t see, or don’t want to see.

Keri grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. She attended Doane University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations and a Master’s Degree in Counseling.
