Sponsor A Horse
Working with horses provides many unique opportunities for individuals in need of extra support due to mental illness, social and behavioral challenges, life transitions, grief, or overall personal and professional development. It is such a privilege. And, yet providing the best possible care for horses comes with a significant cost.
At Three Acres, we hold our animals' health and well-being at the top of our priorities. Any support given by others not only contributes to our animals’ wellbeing but allows us to use more of our resources to serve others in our community.
We invite you to join our Three Acres family by sponsoring a horse. We offer three sponsorship levels:
Stable Hand: $12 a month, commitment for one year
As a Stable Hand, you will get monthly updates on the horse you sponsor including pictures, health info, and examples of some of the wise therapeutic input they provided.
Farrier: $23 a month, commitment for one year
As a Farrier, you will receive all of the benefits of a Stable Hand plus the opportunity to schedule 30 minutes of time per month with the horse you are sponsoring.
Groomer: $45 dollars a month with a six-month commitment
As a Groomer, you will receive all the benefits of a Stable Hand plus the opportunity to schedule 90 minutes of time per month with the horse you are sponsoring. This can be split up into two visits and include one or both of the horses here at Three Acres. This time will be for you and/or a friend or family member. We ask there be no more than two adults and no more than four people per visit. Space will be reserved just for you. Take advantage of the quiet to groom, braid some tails, give a horse a shower, or just sit in the pasture with them. You decide how you want to spend your time with them.
Sponsor A Human
Often people would like to participate in an equine-facilitated session but lack the funds to be able to do so. At Three Acres, we do all we can to accommodate the needs of many but there are times our support may not be enough. The average fee for an individual session is about $130 and group sessions can be thousands of dollars, depending on the size and duration of the group.
We invite you to contribute to our scholarship fund for clients who lack the financial means to receive equine-assisted therapeutic services. You may donate as little as $5 per month and as much as you’d like. Scholarship funds subsidize all therapeutic sessions including individual, family, and/or group sessions.
Volunteer
Looking for other ways to contribute to our community? We offer unique volunteer opportunities including assisting with horse care, maintenance and upkeep of the acreage, turn-outs, and pasture care. If you have a special skill and would like to donate a service we would love to have you join us as part of our team!
